Goooood afternoon everyone!
So sorry I have been way MIA lately. You know how it is, life gets required attention in so many places! So I won't waste time, let's jump right in. Here are the recent mascaras I have tried. Some I loved and some I hated. Sooooooo.... Here. We. Go.
#1. Covergirl Professional - I wanted to start with the cheapest first. When I say cheap I'm talking a while like $4.50-ish! This is actually one if the feat mascaras I ever used. Now it had some good and bad points I won't lie. Good - it's cheap, it does an amazing job at thickening lashes, it's dark, when new it really does a pretty good job at lengthening. Bad - it does not stay on all day, you have to reapply, it dries out pretty fast. When I'm in a weird mascara rut and don't have time to go get a good one I know I can always swing by Walmart and get this little guy to last me about a month. I also like to wear this on "no make-up make-up" days. It looks really natural and not made up and spidery.
#2. Smashbox Full Exposure - I actually didn't buy this. My mom bought two of them one both, I'm assuming on accident, and gave it to me. :D. I didn't argue because - hello! Free makeup! Also I was out of mascara and a little broke at the time. Well I am glad Mama was looking out for me! I actually really like this mascara. It's almost perfect for just a basic mascara. I really don't have anything bad to say about it! It thickens my lashes, it has little to no fall out during the day, it lasts all day, it's easy to get off. Yup, I love it!
#3. Buxom Lash - this is my first buxom product. I really didn't know what to think. When I opened it I didn't really think I would like it because of the brush. It has one if those pointy, hard-ish rubber finger thing brushes. I hate those. I like just normal, plain Jane mascara brushes. All of the new ones they have now honestly just annoy me. Anyway (mini rant) I actually liked this one too. I was suprised. It's certainly not my favorite and I am not planing to buy it again buy I did like it. It went on very thin and not clumpy which is a plus. What I didn't like aside for the torture device they give you for application is the, I guess, texture..? I don't know. It felt almost like paint in my lashes if that makes sense. It was very plasticky looking to me. I don't like the patent lashes. So if you do I recommended this product.
#4. Benefit Bad Gal Lash - one word to describe this product for me would be....no. I was so excited for this, I have no clue why. When I first bought it I went straight to my car, opened it up and applied. I thought for a min there I heard angels singing! It looked incredible...over my mascara I was already wearing. I was excited. I thought for sure this was going to be amazing. So naturally the next day I wore it. All was amazing. Lashes were long and thick and black, my eyes were open and bright. Perfect...until my lunch break when I took a potty break. When I looked in the mirror I saw about 50 tiny black dots alllll over my cheeks. My first thought was "dang, stupid eyeliner." I tried to swipe it off which then led to about a million tiny black lines under my eyes and all over my cheeks. I was not a happy camper. So the meet morning I left my eyeliner off and wore this amazing new product again! Lunch time rolls around...same thing. I then realized I blamed the wrong product. I was so dissipointed. This product has SO MUCH fall out it's sad. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. I was so upset. I've tried wearing it a few times and every single time I regret it. This was a waste.
#5. Benefit They're Real - so on a happy note, I don't hate all benefit mascaras. Lucky for them I bought this one before the other. I actually like this one. I don't love it but I do really like it. It really does lengthen your lashes. I was kind of suprised by how well it worked. However, as you can see from the picture it has one of "those" brushes. And I'm not at all joking when I say that if you own this mascara, you will jab your eye at least once and you will tear up and you will question your need for beautiful long lases for at least 3-5 min. This is one of the worst brushes that I've ever seen on a mascara. It works well for application but something about it makes you forget where your actual eyeballs are located. Also, it's a little more difficult to get off than a lot of others. The "stuff" that gives you magically lengthening abilities is difficult to remove. But it's a nice black, it really does work and there is very little fall out. Just make sure it's completely removed before you apply again. It seems to "build up" fast and look kind weird.
#6. Too Faced Lash Injection - I feel really very confident in saying this is without a doubt the WORST MASCARA EVER. I'm not really sure what the product approval person was daydreaming about when they stamped this giant mistake with an "OK." I hate this product. It's really so bad. I don't know if I have anything good to say about it. The brush (wand, whatever) it waaaay to "bristley" and too much clumpy product it always being given. It's clumpy and gross. It literally stinks. It is almost sticky. It's so.freaking.hard.to.remove. It has a lot of weird plastic, stringy fall out. It does not lengthen or thicken lashes. It actually to what natural curve I had in my lashes out. And lastly, it dried out in like a month or less. It was a huge waste of money. I wouldn't give this to my enemy on her birthday.
Annnd lucky #7 goes to...Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes. - There is indeed a reason this one is last. It's currently my favorite mascara. I haven't loved a mascara like this in a while. I got it on sale at Ulta for $10 (reg. $19) and thought 'why not?!' Love it!! It lasts all days, it's dark, it's very easy to apply, it's not clumpy, it immediately opens my eyes up, it gives my long beautiful lashes the first coat. Yea. I love it. The packaging is a little odd. It's purple leather looking stuff. It kinda looks like you're trying to hide a tampon from people when it's in your purse or you pull it out in public but whatever. It's different and I like that. I would definitely recommend at least giving this one a try!!
So that's it! Short and sweet. :D. I feel like we all need I find the perfect mascara. Everyone's lashes are different and everyone is looking or different things in a mascara so all this things may not apply to you. I naturally have thick lashes but the are short. I realize that most women don't have thick lashes to begin with so of course the things I hate and/or love in a product may be completely opposite from what you want. So tomorrow I will be posting before and after pictures with all if the above listed mascaras so you can see and judge for yourself how well each of them work. As always thank you for reading!
Stay Beautiful,
EBR!
Also, I wanted to thank you for being patient! I know I haven't been on in a while. I've had SO much going on. I'll actually be writing a post soon to explain a little more in detail and also bring awareness to something that has very recently become very dear to my heart. Thank guys!!
