Okay so today I'm going to talk about one of my favorite skin care lines. Mario Badescu!! I have been using these products for about a year now. I decided to try them one day after watching multiple YouTube gurus talking about how awesome this company is. I buy all of my MB products at Ulta. I don't really know why, I just do. However, you can buy them online too as well as I'm sure other stores. Also, every time you buy a MB product you get at least one sample. I have never left the store without one and online you get three samples. I am just too impatient to buy online and wait for them to get to me so I go to the store.
I have used many products in this line and have loved prett much all of them. Of course with any skin care line there will be products that don't work with your skin or ones you just don't like. That's the reason there are SO many to choose from. So today I'm going to tell you the ones I like the most alsong with the ones I like the least. I'm going to do this in 2 parts so each one isn't such a long read.
All of the products average about $15. Some are higher and some are lower but that's about the average cost.
They have a ton of products. Everything from anti-aging to acne control. They label every product with either D, C, O, ALL or S. This is what I call the skin type key.
D - dry skin
C - combination skin
O - oily skin
S - sensitive skin
ALL - (obviously) all skin types
This comes in really handy when you're trying to pick out a product.
So here we go...
Part 1 of 2
My very first MB purchase was the enzyme cleaning gel. This is a cleanser.
This was the product getting so much hype on YouTube so of course it was the first one I bought. I really like this cleanser. I have combination skin and some days I end up really oily (mostly in the summer...duh) so I wash morning and Every night and sometimes in between. Anyway, I really like this product. It's my everyday cleanser. It took me a little while to get used to because it doesn't foam up or sud up like other cleansers I have used. But once I used it for about a week I love it. It smells fresh and leaves you just feeling clean. Since day one of using this cleanser I have tried a few others but always went back to this one.
Overall: I highly recommend this product.
Next is probably one of my favorite products I have ever used as far as skin are is concerned. MB glycolic foaming cleanser.
I LOVE this stuff. It has changed my skin so much in such a short time. I have been using his for about 6 months. This IS a foaming cleanser. I use this about 3 times a week. It tells you on the bottle to only use it a few times a week. It has glycolic acid in it so it is very drying. It soaks up every bit of oil on your skin! My skin feels amazing after using this. The smell is weird. It doesn't stink but it doesn't smell good either. Since I've started using this cleanser WITH my enzyme cleansing gel, I can't tell a huge reduction in the oil production of my skin. My skin use to be so out after a day at school or sitting in class that my makeup would literally just melt off. My pores were huge and gross and I would get frequent break outs. Since using this product, I almost never have an oily face at night when I take my makeup off. I breakout way less often than before and when I do breakout, my pimples heal within a day. I have also noticed my pores have shrunk which is a huge deal for me. I have been trying to shrink my pores for YEARS! Seriously. I think I first noticed them at about age 13 and since that day I have been doing what I can to unclog and shrink them. They also seem clearer. They're not little black dots on my face anymore! The biggest Improvement to my skin is te ability to use a moisturizer. I use to refuse to use a moisturizer on my face because I felt like it made me even oiler faster. And I hated that! I know it's bad practice but hey... With using this I am able to moisturize daily and my skin still says clear and beautiful.
Overall: I STRONGLY recommend this product to everyone, especially those with problem skin and oily skin. It will change your life.
While we are on the topic of cleansers, I'm going to tell you about the only MB cleanser I've tried that I do NOT like. The cucumber cream soap.
I was really excited when I bought this. Generally cucumber facial products are really cooling and refreshing so naturally I thought this product would be the same. Now I didn't need a new cleanser but it was on sale for half off and when I started reading on it I thought it'd be interesting to try. I used it for the first time that night. I immediately hated it. It left a weird oily-ness to my skin when I washed it off. It didn't take off the makeup left on my skin (after the remover wipes, another post another day.) And I just didn't feel clean. Either way I forced myself to leave it thinking maybe it would change after it soaked in to my skin...no it didn't. I slept with my face like that all night. Now it didn't break me out or anything but I still woke up and had to immediately wash my face. It felt disgusting. I could not take it anymore. I gave it a few days and tried it again thinking maybe I just had an oily day. Same exact result. I do not like this product. I use it every now and then when I'm feeling really dry. Other than that it stays under my sink.
Overall: I would only recommend this product to people with really dry skin. If you like the feeling of having a mask on your face, this product may also be something to look into. For anyone with oily skin or combination, I would say save your money!!
So this is all for today and for part one! Part two will talk about other MB products other than cleansers.
I hope this helps you guys. Like I said I love these products (most of them haha) and will probably not change until my skin does. If you have any questions about the products listed here, please feel free to contact me as I'll help in anyway possible!!
